Facebook introduces its Free Wi-Fi Detection Map

Dec 09, 2023

Facebook added a new tool which allows users to find Wi-Fi hotspots in their area. This new “Find Wi-Fi” option is available to Facebook users from all over the world, on both iPhone and Android.

As per Facebook,

“Find Wi-Fi helps you locate available Wi-Fi hot spots nearby that businesses have shared with Facebook from their Page. So wherever you are, you can easily map the closest connections when your data connection is weak.”

To be able to access the new Wi-Fi listings, the process is fairly simple.

  1. Tap on the “More” option
  2. Press on the “Find Wi-Fi” tool (This will bring up the list or map view which will help you find your nearest Wi-Fi location)

This new feature will make it easier for Facebook users to stay connected for it increases their prospects of broadcasting through Facebook Live. With the help of this feature, a better quality of real-time information will be produced.

“Free Wi-Fi” can also be an additional avenue for businesses like cafes – to attract new customers by connecting their business Page to Facebook’s Wi-Fi listing. With this, their location and details will also appear on the map.

Your business can be a part of this by applying its main requirement which is to have a router that supports Facebook Wi-Fi. Once the business page is connected via Facebook Wi-Fi, it will now appear when users search.
