YouTube is introducing new tools and features on their live-stream capacity to maintain its number one online destination for video content.

Last January 12, 2017, YouTube has announced a new tool called “Super Chat”. This will allow the comments of live-stream viewers to be featured and highlighted compared to other comments.

According to YouTube, “Anybody watching a live stream can purchase a Super Chat: a highlighted message in the chat stream that stands out from the crowd to get even more of your favorite creator’s attention. And Super Chats remain pinned to the top of chat for up to 5 hours, giving more airtime for your messages.”

But, don’t be deceived! Super Chat will only highlight your comments if you pay for it. Yes, you have to PAY.

“The color of your Super Chat, the period of time it stays pinned in the ticker, and the maximum message length are determined by the amount of your purchase.”

Super Chat’s payment is currently available on Android and is facilitated through a connected credit card.
