Apple pulls out iPhone 4 and makes it obsolete

Sep 25, 2023

As of November 1, 2016, Apple announced that its iPhone 4 will be added to their official list of obsolete products.

Yes, you read that right. Apple considers its iPhone 4 handsets as a “vintage” product (items that were manufactured for more than five years and less than seven years ago). This only means one thing, Apple will no longer offer iPhone 4 service repairs.

The iPhone 4 was first released last 2010 and was followed up with the iPhone 4S version last 2011. Apple ceased the distribution of iPhone 4 in 2013.

As Apple continues to update its iOS software, it’s no surprise that the rumored obsolescence of iPhone 4 will eventually happen.
