Let’s begin.

What is Google Ads?

Google Ads or Google Adwords, is generally Google's online advertising platform that enables you to develop online advertisements to target individuals that are interested in the products and services you provide. The site will run with Pay-per-click (PPC) advertising with Google Ads.

You must pay each time a user clicks one of your ad s— the more you pay compared to other companies, the more you get a chance to be on the top searches. Basically, it’s like bidding.  You must optimize your content quality and bid amount to win the Google Ads auction and have your ads appear for relevant keywords.

In order to understand how Google Ads works, you must first understand how Google works.

Naturally, when people search on Google, they are looking for solutions. This is an opportunity for you to showcase your business, your products and services and finally, the solution that your company has to solve their problem. According to Li Creative , Google is believed to process about 63,000 search queries every second, or 5.6 billion searches each day and about 2 trillion searches worldwide each year — the typical person searches three to four times every day.

Now, are you still wondering why many businesses are using Google Ads as their number one advertising platform? With Google Advertising, your business will not only accelerate your results but you can also easily reach millions of people worldwide and grow your business.

4 Types of Google Ads

Google Search Ads

Text advertisements that appear on Google Search Engine Results Pages or SERPs are known as Google Search Ads. Your search ads may show up at the top of the page above the organic search results or at the very bottom. Search ads may appear from the specific keywords you enter.

Look at the example below:

As you can see from the example, we tried to look for wholesale dried flowers and it showed some search advertisements at the top of the organic search. Take note that Search Ads can be seen with the word sponsored or Ads text. You might be asking yourself how it works? Well, when a person uses a Google search, the engine looks to see whether any advertisers are competing for the keywords related to that search. If so, advertisements will show up on that SERP.

Organic search is a non-paid search result that can provide answers for free. Meaning, a website doesn't pay to be in that space because of their good SEO and high quality content. But in terms of Google Search Ads, businesses will pay Google to put their website to the top of search results. Put simply, websites will use Google Ads in order to be on top searches.

Google Display Ads

As stated above, Google Search Ads are text-based and allow you to target specific keywords. But when it comes to display artising, it turns into image-based ads and lets you target people who are probably interested in your item but aren't actively seeking for it.

You will frequently see display ads while visiting your favorite websites. Nevertheless, it can also be seen while watching videos on Youtube and while using an app.

Here is an example of a display ad:

Google Shopping Ads

While display are image-based ads, shopping ads are product-based ads. They are specifically displayed for Google product searches. You can use it to draw more customers into your store and boost sales. Shopping ads display a product image along with its specific product name, price, store, and reviews. In general, they give customers significant product details ahead of their visit to an online store.

See the examples below;

Video Ads

YouTube is owned by Google, hence Google Ads is used to advertise video on this platform. Advertisements that run before and during videos can be made by Google Ads. With the help of Google Advertising, marketers can use a wide range of targeting strategies for their video ads. In reality, you may specifically reach your audiences based on their unique interests, aspirations, and demographics with Google Ads.

Given that Youtube is the second-largest search engine behind Google, Companies may effectively target any audience category with the use of effective ad targeting. In other words, companies can target specific audiences based on what they are watching.
